Starting Jan. 1 and ending Jan. 10, Rick and I drove from Boston, Ma. to Burbank, Ca! Movers were already headed to Calif. with his belongings and we were driving his car back. It was quite a trip, with blowing snow almost the way! But at those moments when it stopped snowing and the sun broke through, the results were breathtaking! Of the hundreds of pictures I took, these are my favorites!

I had always wanted to go to Bryce Canyon in Utah. I was afraid that it wasn't the optimum time of year to go, but there reall wasn't any choice. Winter turned out to be one of the BEST times to go! The snow on the rocks gave them a depth, and shape, and contrast that I couldn't have captured at any other time of year!

Bryce Canyon

The picture of the tree was taken in Green River, Utah. We were driving through this little town, and as I looked over the frozen bridge, I saw these trees with the river. I made Rick pull over (I probably scared him with my "PULL OVER!!")

Green River Winter

I glanced at the outside temperature on the dashboard and noticed a brisk -7. I didn't care, it was magical out there! I took my pictures in about five minutes before my camera and myself turned popsicle! But it was so worth it...

The pictures of the Oak trees and the snow was taken the day after Thanksgiving. We were coming from Laughlin and going to Big Bear. We were coming up the backside on Hwy 18 and as we turned one of the corners, color and snow! Again with the "PULL OVER!!!", and the rest is web site material!
